Hidup dalam “rasa aman” termasuk kemewahan bagi sebagian orang. Coba, berapa kali Anda harus meremas kursi atau paha Anda (atau mungkin, paha pasangan Anda) saat naik angkot, gara-gara si Pak sopir menghindari kendaraan lain yang nyelonong atau sekedar mengerem mendadak untuk menurunkan penumpang.

Saat naik kereta api, pernahkah Anda terpaksa turun di tengah perjalanan gara-gara rel kereta anjlok, atau jalurnya terendam banjir? Saat akan booking tiket pesawat, pernahkah Anda terpikir “gile… gak ada satu pun maskapai di Indonesia yang akhir-akhir ini bebas dari kecelakaan”.

Kalau sedang chatting di YM atau MSN Messenger, bukankah kita selalu mengecek status teman-teman kita? Kebanyakan dari teman saya pun status YM nya selalu berubah tiap hari. Begitu pula dengan status di Facebook, yang bisa di-customize setiap waktu. Facebook bahkan melangkah lebih jauh dengan memberikan fitur “add comment” untuk memberikan tanggapan terhadap status tersebut dan terjadilah interaksi antara si empunya profile dan si pengunjung profile.

Mudah sekali cara gabungnya. Cukup subscribe ke milis, buat perkenalan dan aliran email-email pun mengalir. Seringkali kita tidak tau “what’s going on”, karena tiba-tiba ada email yang isinya tentang kegiatan, tapi kadang juga caci-maki.

Kalau pas beruntung, pas subscribe mendadak ada nonton bareng atau kopdar kopi, kopdar burjo (bubur kacang ijo) ataupun futsal. Kalau pas kurang beruntung, nimbrung sok tau, apalagi tanpa perkenalan, bisa langsung dihabisi :))

It has been a long dream to have our very own website set-up and to have our own domain name as well. And today it’s finally up and running. This is our first time to have a joint blog. Arida and I both have our own blogs, we still haven’t decided yet whether we want to keep blogging on those, or focus on this one; which judging from the time we have, I think we may very well be focusing just on this one. Why “the-prasetyos”? Well because that is our family name. We have somehow decided to start using family name for our children also (in the future). Later on, he/she will be able to join their parents in nourishing this blog.

This blog will be a casual one. No formalities, no “too-serious” topics and for sure no touch of hatred will be on this blog. We will try to post in English, but there are times when we do miss our native language, so we may post in Indonesian. That being said, we would happily welcome any comments from you (be it in English, Indonesian, Spanish, or any other languages).

We hope that this blog could not only bring the two of us closer together, but also bring more friends to us. Hopefully by opening up, our friends would get to know us better and new friendships could be made.
